Did you know Freddy Barry? One time at the rodeo there at Redwood Acres, he was tryin’ to rope a horse that was runnin’ by him and he couldn’t do it. And I spun a rope and I threw it out and I caught the horse by the two front feet. There were a lot of people in the grand stands at the time. So he said, “Let me have the rope. I wanna do the rope.” I said. “Okay”. So I got back on my horse and he tried again. Anyway, I said, “Fred, I’ll rope the smallest piece — the hardest part. You can’t catch the Goddamned horse anyway! Let me have the rope.” So he got on the horse and when the horse went by, I said, “I’ll catch him by the tail.” So when the horse went by, I inverted the loop — it went up like that — caught that horse by the tail and Goddamned near bucked him off. Right in front of the grand stands! Everybody got quite a kick outta that.
